Meet the Founders
The Beginning
Croyle-Nielsen Therapeutic Associates, Inc. (C-NTA®) was founded in 2013 by Jesper & Amy Nielsen out of a desire to dedicate their professional lives and abilities to building something truly meaningful and helpful to people. It was never about anything but trying to apply our skills and abilities to something that we felt was meaningful. It was searching for meaning in our work outside of just receiving a paycheck. It was about charting our own path and being able to prioritize what we felt was important in creating a great place. We didn’t have grand visions of running a large company or being CEOs and entrepreneurs. Frankly, that was the furthest from our minds and is still not what drives us. We simply just wanted to be able to put our talents toward something we found to be important and to create a place we’d enjoy working at. Many thought we were crazy to quit our stable jobs and enter into a new period of extreme economic and financial insecurity and struggle that lasted for years. And maybe we were. But the freedom to build something we found to be meaningful and beneficial was worth it and was what kept us going through some very challenging times in the beginning.
Continued Growth
However, after years of struggle to gain a foothold and to create something unique and meaningful with C-NTA®, we slowly started going from worrying about how to meet the next payroll and afford paying our bills to seeing real growth and a demand for our specific way of providing services. In 2014, C-NTA® opened our first Somerset location providing outpatient therapy services and 2014 was also the year we started providing services to Adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism (ID/A).
In 2017, the company saw its next major change as we expanded our services to include a raft of other offerings, including residential services for ID/A individuals. Since then, we have continued our growth to include over 100 team members in over 20 service locations. We are incredibly proud of the fact that a dream to somehow try to make a difference, however small, has grown into an organization helping hundreds of people every day and is continuing to grow! All of this was only possible through the addition of truly incredible people to our team. Without all of our amazing team members who saw what we were trying to accomplish and wanted to be on that journey as well, we wouldn’t be here. It is that simple! We continue to be amazed at what our team is doing every day to take C-NTA® to new heights and to make it theirs as much as ours. We are truly people powered and couldn’t be prouder of that fact!
